A STUNNING FAMILY HOLIDAY RENTAL
“We had a wonderful holiday in your beautiful family home. Le Cros has a lovely feel to it”
Antonia, August 2018

Our Property
Le Cros was acquired by Charles and Lucie Skipwith in 1989 and has been transformed into a well-appointed 5 bedroom country house in the heart of the Entre-Deux-Mers vineyards with its own private pool.
The house is set in an acre of garden with uninterrupted views of undulating vineyards and the ancient Commanderie of Sallebruneau, an important stopping point on the medieval pilgrim route to Saint Jacques De Compostelle.
The decor and facilities complement the Girondine style of the house, with many original parts of the house preserved.

Guestbook
“We had a week at Le Cros in August 2018. It was easy to find, and the location was stunning. Open fields of vines all around, and a beautiful ruin just 2 fields away, which our young children took to calling “cat’s castle” and it made for regular picnics and adventures. There is a medieval herb garden that local students are lovingly tendering to.
The house is dark and cool in parts, a wonderful respite on hot days. But equally the wow factor is the kitchen and veranda room where we spent many happy meal times, with the open plan cooking/eating area. The kitchen was so well equipped it inspired us to buy more meals we could make from scratch. As well as the standard French fayre of baked Camembert, crepes and so on.
We found several adventures to play around the house – such a well-stocked TV and games room, outdoor leagues of croquet and table tennis, hid-and-seek and pool games.
The pool is very safe, and there were ample umbrellas to provide shade, whilst watching the lizards streaking across the hot stone.
It really felt as comfortable as being in someone else’s home – not a holiday house. It feels warm and lived in, without too much clutter.” (Lee, August 2018)
“We had a wonderful holiday in your beautiful family home. Le Cros has a lovely feel to it and I am sure your parents had many happy times there.” (Waddington, August 2018)
“Thank you for making the house available to us and when our friends came for the weekend this is when the house came into its own. Fun, laughter and entertaining. le Cros was made for this and all our friends loved the house and the space that it offered. We congregated in the kitchen, dining area and garden, it was perfect.” (Clarke, September 2018)
