The Area
Beyond the entrance gate of the house there is plenty of interest to explore, from the Commandery of the Knights of St John (12th century) in our hamlet to the vineyards of St Emilion (20 km) with its cobblestone streets and myriads of artisans' shops. Le Cros is also within easy reach of Libourne, Castillon, Langon, and of course, Bordeaux.
In the Entre-Deux-Mers, where the house stands, every corner turned presents an unrivalled view over ranks of carefully trimmed vineyards, studded with little communities clamouring round distinctive Aquitaine churches and historical buildings.

- Cycling on the piste cyclable and surrounding area (bikes available from us)
- River cruises on the Dordogne, starting from Branne (10kms from Le Cros) with onboard dining
- ‘Les Grottes Celestines’; a network of underground caves in Rauzan (3km away) open to the public with guided tours
- Rock climbing & abseiling (by prior arrangement)
- Quad-biking and waterskiing at nearby Espiet
- Horse riding (also by prior arrangement)
- Fishing at the nearby Lacs de Laubesc
