Gite L'Etable
For peace and tranquillity we can offer our gîte "L'Etable". This self-contained gîte is attached to the main house, where we have 'bed and breakfast', but with its own separate front door. Come and bury yourself in the heart of the vineyards. Maybe all you need is a good book and a glass of wine by the pool in the sunny, well-tended gardens in front of your French window, or possibly, you want to have a base from where you can explore the region, or house-hunt at leisure.

L'Etable is ideal for a couple with up to two young children, with a further double/twin bedroom if required. Sleeping accommodation is on the mezzanine (1 double bed, 1 junior single and a cot) and a further double/twin bedroom leading from the mezzanine should it be needed. A futon-type overnight bed for two in the sitting room downstairs provides further overnight accommodation if necessary. There is a spacious shower with a separate loo. For the chef/ess there is a 4-burner range with oven and extractor hood, double sink, large fridge/freezer. Also provided is a dishwasher and a washing machine. Of course, all the necessary cookware and tableware is supplied. There is a stereo and a television so you can catch up on the news; but should you want to watch your favourite 'soap' just ask…all the usual UK channels are available in the main house
If there are four or more adults, and with advanced notification, we can provide evening meals. This is often served on the adjacent terrace where you can help 'put the world to rights' over a glass or three of a local crû.
There is ample parking at the house and, for your shopping, the sleepy community of Sauveterre-de-Guyenne is only 5kms away. It has a weekly market on Tuesday morning where many local peasant growers bring their produce, and there are all the necessary shops including a good 'Super-U' store.
The Atlantic coast (1 ½ hours away) is edged with pine forests and long sandy beaches. St Emilion is a mere 20 minutes up the road and the historic city of Bordeaux is only 45 minutes away.
Letting is on a weekly basis with prices from as little as 280 euros. A deposit is required and this will be refunded upon departure subject to the gîte being vacated in a satisfactory state.
