The Area & Local Activities
The piste cyclable is a recent addition to the local activities. The disused railway line from Sauveterre to Bordeaux (64km) has been transformed for the benefit of cyclists so that they may meander through the vineyards and woodland, far from the hustle and bustle of traffic.
For those who find the idea of cycling too challenging, be reassured....it is almost level the whole way! To quench your thirst or have a bite, stop at one of the old stations which has now been turned into a bright and friendly bar/bistro. If you would like, we can meet you somewhere down the line with a home prepared picnic and a corkscrew, of course!
