Cookery Courses at Le Cros
Cookery Courses & Workshops
Lucie and Charles Skipwith ran a successful restaurant in Southern Hampshire for 21 years and received regular accolades from publications such as ‘The Good Food Guide’, ‘Egon Ronay’, ‘ The Ackermann Guide’ as well as three 'spoon & fork' assesment by the Michelin Guide. With this pedigree as a guarantee, Lucie is well equipped to tutor guests in the art of French Provincial cuisine showing them the subtleties of sauces and the nuances of flavours from only the finest ingredients. We aim at ‘cuisine réalistique’ rather than ‘posh nosh’ with menus based on provincial cuisine from the South-West of France.
Below is the schedule for a one-day cookery course at Le Cros:
- Arrive at 10.00am from your accommodation, unless staying in-house
- Lucie takes you to a local market to select ingredients for the chosen menu
- Return to Le Cros around midday for a light lunch and coffee
- Relax in our tasting room or, if the weather is fine, around the pool
- At 3.00pm commence the instruction for a 3-course dinner
- Finish the lesson at 7.00pm and have a pre-dinner apéritif
- At 7.30pm sit down to the dinner that you have prepared with local wines.
Cost of the day course is €150.00 per student with a minimum of two students. This would include the market visit, tuition, light lunch and dinner with wines.
Where there is a second couple in the same party, a 10% reduction would be given to the introducing couple. Group discounts can be negotiated.
