Who Are We?
Charles Skipwith and his wife, Lucie, from Bordeaux, owned a Guide recommended restaurant in Hampshire for 21 years. Now that their family has grown up, they are spreading their wings having sold the business. They are putting their considerable experience to good use by looking after guests spending four or five inspirational days at 'Le Cros'.
Lucie was totally involved in the culinary aspect of the restaurant, and was responsible for its entries in the Good Food Guide, The Egon Ronay Guide and The Michelin Guide, amongst others. Her expertise will ensure a very high standard of cuisine during your stay.
Charles spent many years in the wine trade working in Bordeaux at Chateau Margaux and in London with a firm of independent wine merchants. His extensive local knowledge will help to enlighten guests on visits to growers and chateaux.
